The Österreichische Bundesforste AG is Austria's largest natural area manager and sustainably manages around 10% of the country's land area. The company employs around 1,000 people in forestry, real estate management, and renewable energy. As a large organization handling sensitive data, introducing a professional whistleblowing system was an important compliance measure.
The Challenge: An anonymous reporting channel for 1,000 employees
The Österreichische Bundesforste wanted to provide its approximately 1,000 employees with a whistleblowing system enabling simple, digital, and above all anonymous whistleblowing. The reporting channel was introduced at the end of 2021, even before the legal obligation came into effect. The requirements were clear: the system had to be user-friendly, including for employees with little software experience. It had to meet legal requirements and be adaptable to changes in law.
