Fitness trackers, electronic health records, online consultations—the digital age has long since reached the medical world. Whether driven by...
Surveys in Germany have shown that 64% of 18- to 29-year-olds generally feel overwhelmed when dealing with legal matters. Furthermore, 81% of this age group would avoid going to a lawyer because they often fear unpredictable costs. Consequently, consulting a lawyer is frequently associated with a financial risk.
The younger generation of clients is highly digitally driven and wants to act more independently. Independence from time and location is also important to them. Digitalization is changing the way society interacts, communicates, shops, and obtains information. Many sectors are therefore facing major changes, and the legal sector is no exception. This has been particularly evident in recent months.
In many sectors, the COVID-19 crisis necessitated accelerating digitalization on relatively short notice. During this time, many people have experienced the benefits that digitalization brings.
The legal tech startup kontractory and the Austrian full-service law firm Dax Wutzlhofer und Partner Rechtsanwälte (DWP) seized this opportunity to develop an innovative solution for the legal sector. The kontractory by DWP platform launched in June 2020.
This platform enables users to create customized contracts and legal documents online quickly, transparently, from anywhere, and independently, with the support of attorneys.
All documents are broken down into individual components. Users are guided step by step through an innovative process. This allows users to explore the wide variety of possible versions of a contract or legal document. Explanations and tips are provided at every stage to help users, for example, understand legal terminology or make an appropriate selection.
However, users are not left to their own devices and can contact experts during the process or after completion. The process is completed when the document created in this way is additionally reviewed by a specialized attorney, jointly agreed upon, and finalized. This is because every single offer includes a fixed amount of time for legal consultation to ensure that all questions are fully clarified. This legal consultation can take place through a variety of channels—phone, email, or video call. Of course, in-person contact with the attorney is still possible.
kontractory by DWP is available throughout Austria and offers legal advice completely location-independent and at any time at transparent costs. It provides the same security and confidentiality as an in-person lawyer.
In addition to contracts and legal documents, the service also offers specialized startup consulting, a range of legal reviews, and the innovative model of an external (outsourced) legal department. Some free documents can also be customized and downloaded directly from the website.
We at Akarion have been working with kontractory by DWP since the very beginning. Together, we have made it our mission to offer you a comprehensive service in the area of data protection. We provide our Data Protection Module, and DWP delivers tailored legal advice to meet your specific needs.
